Maine - Flagship full-service yard
Hinckley Yacht Services Southwest Harbor, ME
Since 1928, Southwest Harbor has been the heart of the Hinckley legend - caring for sail and power yachts of every make in the cruising grounds around Acadia.
Location overview
The Heart of the Hinckley Legend
Southwest Harbor is where Hinckley began in 1928, and nearly a century of it remains the heart of the company - a world-class yard caring for sail and power yachts of every make in the cruising grounds around Acadia National Park.
Refits are our specialty. We share resources with the nearby Hinckley production facility, bringing boatbuilding engineering and design to your project, backed by paint up to 80 feet, a full metal-fabrication shop, and the machine shop that supplies parts to every Hinckley yard.
From your first call, we assign you a Service Manager who knows your boat and coordinates the work, haul-and-launch. Our nearby Northeast Harbor marina takes care of your slip, fuel, and provisioning when you cruise.

We coordinate the whole season for you - the plan, moorings, haul and launch timing, refit, storage, and handoff - all shaped around the work your yacht needs.
Your Southwest Harbor Service Manager
Southwest Harbor Service Team
From your first inquiry through arrival, refit, storage, and completion, one Service Manager coordinates the plan and stays your single point of contact throughout.
Before You Arrive
Tell us the vessel details, the work you want, your current location, and timing. We plan everything before your yacht ever reaches the yard, and offer pickup and delivery.
Arrival and Handoff
We assign your mooring or work space and confirm haul or launch timing ahead of the handoff, so arrival day runs without surprises or delay.
While We Have Her
We survey the boat, recommend the work, and coordinate the trades, approvals, and updates throughout, keeping one clear path from the first day to the last.
Seasonal Timing
Plan winter storage and refit early. We're busiest preparing boats from May to the Fourth of July, so booking ahead secures your spot and splash date.
Owner feedback
What owners say after service
Owner feedback connected to the Southwest Harbor service team.
“They team did a really good job this past winter. Carried out everything I requested and found other items that needed to be taken care of that I hadn't mentioned so this was the best service I've had since I began using the winter program in 2016. I am getting concerned over pricing. It was really good service this year, but it feels like the basic cost could be less, especially given all the extras that are charged.”
“Our 42’ Morris was in spectacular shape when she was delivered to us this year!”
“Perfect experience with Hinckley Yachts”
“John Pratt is a terrific representative of Hinckley Compnay. Scott Smith too. Always helpful. Becky Murphy is excellent for helping with bills and paperwork, etc.”
“Work was completed on time and of high quality. Exceeded estimate on several items and could have better communication of ongoing work.”
“Hi, Kirk. I'm happy to see the yard getting a lot of $ attention. It's beginning to look like a serious boat yard. Naturally, as a long-time, pay-on-time customer, I'm hoping I'll not be pressured out by significantly rising fees. My customer service rep. John Pratt and the yard crew are like family. Keep up the good work. Sincerely, Roger Marin”
