A full-service yard on Narragansett Bay, minutes from Newport and the islands, with a 15-acre campus built for work up to 140 feet.
Portsmouth is the network's haul-and-paint hub, with two spray booths and a dedicated booth for masts. Yachts come in for refits and finish work, then go back out across the Northeast's most active cruising grounds, from Block Island and the Vineyard to Nantucket, Newport, and Long Island Sound.
The yard cares for power and sailing yachts of every make, with mechanical, electrical, electronics, HVAC, rigging, paint, varnish, fiberglass, canvas, carpentry, metal work, and detailing. Most of it happens in house, with factory-trained certification across the systems owners actually run, from Yanmar and Volvo Penta to Seakeeper, AwlGrip, and Garmin.
From the first call, you're assigned a Service Manager who guides every step and coordinates the yard, the dock, and haul-and-launch. Rather than managing separate conversations, you get one service plan with clear ownership from drop-off through completion.
Owners bring power and sailing yachts of every make to Portsmouth for the full range of care, from mechanics and systems to paint and varnish, refit, storage, launch, commissioning, and survey support.

One 15-acre Rhode Island yard with heated storage, two paint booths, a dedicated mast booth, 150- and 55-ton Travelifts, cranes, and East Passage access on Narragansett Bay.
Certified, factory-trained, or deeply experienced across the systems aboard your yacht.
You should not have to coordinate the yard. Portsmouth does that with you before the yacht arrives, shaping the service plan, dockage, haul or launch timing, security access, parking, and handoff around the work your yacht needs.
A Portsmouth Service Manager coordinates the plan from first inquiry through arrival, service, storage, and completion, with the Dock Master and operations team brought in as needed.
Share owner and captain contacts, vessel details, requested work, current location, docking plan, and timing, plus any haul-out considerations, so the Portsmouth team can prepare fully before the yacht ever arrives.
Your Service Manager sets slip assignment with the Dock Master and confirms haul or launch timing with the operations team well before the handoff, so arrival day runs without surprises or delay.
The team coordinates trades, approvals, status updates, after-hours access, parking, loading, and offloading throughout the project, keeping one clear path through the work from the first day to the last.
Plan winterization, storage placement, commissioning, launch, and refit scope early with your Service Manager, especially across the busy March 15 to June 15 pre-season window, when the yard schedule tightens considerably.
Answers to the planning questions that come up before your yacht arrives at the Portsmouth yard.
Yes. The Portsmouth yard cares for high-end power and sailing yachts from builders across the market, not only Hinckley. The team is factory-trained and authorized on the major engine, electronics, and systems brands aboard, from Yanmar and Volvo Penta to Seakeeper and Garmin.
Yes. Portsmouth is the network's haul-and-paint hub, with two spray booths and a dedicated mast booth backing its refit work. The yard hauls and launches power and sailing yachts up to 140 feet and 150 tons, then stores them in heated sheds.
Plan early. The yard is busiest April through June, and from March 15 to June 15 it is hard to add vessels or change project scope without affecting delivery dates. Off-season scheduling moves faster, often within a week, so reach the team ahead of the season.
